I
have been around animals my entire life. I grew up on a couple of acres
in La Habra Heights, California and thought I lived on a farm. I have had
horses, cows, donkeys, goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, hawks, cats and
dogs. Fish, rodents, snake and tortoises! (I am sure I am leaving out
someone.) Animals just make sense to me.
They are one of the area's in which I thrive.
All I can
remember doing was teaching someone to do something they weren't
necessarily breed for. My donkey could run a hunter hack course and the
cows you could saddle and ride. The duck thought is was a dog, the dog
thought it was a human, the cat was sort confused and the goat, well the
goat is a story all by himself. So I think you can get the picture.
Like
all of those who have cared for multiple pets, there have been a number
of extraordinary souls in my
life. Personally I will never forget the likes of Puff a hamster,
Tiffany a Bassett Hound, Sydney the goat, Macaroon the best horse I ever
knew, a chicken with funny feathers who name I can not remember, and Magnum
a Rottweiler who emotional saved me
and lived with me for a period of over ten years. (Even now I sigh to
think of his commitments.)
They come and
they go, there lives so much shorter then the human existences. We are
fortune to have so many opportunities to love. Emma is one such
advantage in my life. After adopting her I realized that she was
special, a little different then my average dog. We have spent some time
exploring what enriches her life and in turn I have had the most
wonderful experiences in mine.
I think critter
first and it is obvious they notice, including Emma. Animals have continually
expanded my live and I couldn't imagine it any other way!

Animals
need training
Humans need education

There's always
more to learn
My latest adventure
is with the
Animal Behavioral Institute where
I am currently enrolled in their
Animal Assisted Therapy Certificate Program
I am also looking for
what Knowledge I may
need for her new
following her new path of
stage and film training I have
began
CERT training
It may sound like
I am going overboard
for a dog. But my Grandmother told me education is never a waste
It is knowledge
and no one could ever take that away from you
So I learn
everyday
On the greatest subject
I have ever studied,
my dog!
Just be willing.
